      Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing Rating:
Gameplay: 10
Graphics: 7
Sound: 6.5
Overall: 9.2

Game Play: Let me start off by saying this is one of my favorite games ever, if you dont already own this game go and buy it now because I guarantee you wont get bored with it! I bought this game pretty much the day it came out. I bought the game brought it home. Scanned the back and started wondering did I waist my money I have to say myself that the game is a little dated looking. But that is for a reason! Animal Crossing is pretty much an upgrade of Animal Forest. Animal Forest was a game released in the late days of the N64. It was actually only released in Japan for the 64DD. Then Nintendo kind of gave it a face-lift for Gamecube.

In the game you interact with animal instead of humans. Depending on your actions and how you talk to them will affect if they like you or not. If an animal likes you it will give you clothing and furniture, if not it will just ignore you. The game play is very fun in AC like I said before it is one of my favorites. What AC reminds me of is a mix between the Sims and Harvest Moon. In Animal Crossing you play the role of yourself! You move into a town, which you name, a well as yourself. You arrive in a town and you have to pay your house off. Which takes a long time because you are constantly paying it off. You make money by fishing, collecting bugs, furniture and selling them to the local store clerk Tom Nook. Along the way your house gets bigger and bigger! You eventually get a basement and a second floor! Other cool aspects of the game are acres; acres are plots of land where you live your life. Acres contain shops and other important locations in the game, which include Tom Nooks store, the wishing well, Lighthouse, Museum, and the police department. Along with tons of other things. The store in the village changes daily! Say if you wanted a fishing rod for AC and the store didnt have it today, you could come back tomorrow and the store might carry it! The game is totally customizable from your house to the music! You can buy countless items for your house (Tons more than the Sims) and rearrange them, as youd like.

My favorite part about the game is you can share it with your friends! Every ones town is completely different from the landscape, to the fruit that grows on your trees, to who lives in your town. Say your friend had the game and he/she came over your house. He/she would pop their memory card into your Gamecube and you could visit their town and interact with everything/everyone in their town, or the other way around!

For game play I give the game a: 10

Replay: Replay in my eyes is the most crucial part of a game, because if you beat a game in one night what is the fun of that! Well in Animal Crossing there isnt an ending! Your character never dies, or moves. The world your character lives in revolves around itself! It doesnt need you to move ahead, what Im trying to say is if you dont play for say a week, weeds will start to grow and people may move out of your town! Replay is great for this game because there are things going on all the time. AC is based on days just like our calendar even the holidays! So say it is Halloween in real life you can actually go on the game and hand out candy to people that live in your town! There are also a bunch of made up holidays like workout day, fishing tournaments, and mushroom picking. Another fun thing to do is to go fishing and bug hunting. Your character can buy a fishing rod and can fish in various areas. The cool thing is that certain fish and bugs come out at different times of the year! Lets say you want to catch a trout, but its summer time, so you actually have to wait all the way until winter to catch a trout! Thats why the replay is so great in the game! So the hunt always goes on

Replay gets a 10

Controls: What I mean about controls is the buttons and if they work well with the game. This game is super easy to learn how to play. Its one of those games that anyone could play from a three year old or your mom. The controls are pretty much based around the analog stick to move around and the A button to open doors and dig. Then X and Y control your map and contents menu. Then finally R or L is to run. It is an extremely easy game to learn.

Controls get a 10

Sound: Depending on what type of gamer you are you might find the music in the game a little Kiddy most of the background music consists of meows and barks from animals. But the music isnt really that bad. The music changes hourly. So at noon you might have a nice upbeat type of music. And at 3am you might have a silent drowsy kind of music that makes you want to sleep. The characters dont really talk, but they speak Animalese whatever the heck that is! Animalese is a very fast read letters. So if you heard your character talking it would sound like a big jumble of letters which can get a bit annoying after a while, but if you listen real close it sounds like they are really talking!
Sound gets a 6.5

Graphics: Another downside a lot of people don't like is the graphics; I do admit they are really kiddy like. The graphics are not really that great but remember it is a N64 game on the Gamecube pretty much! I actually grown to like the graphics of the game, I think it makes the game unique from all the others. Thats pretty much all I have for graphics.
Graphics gets a 7
Overall: Overall I think Nintendo did another excellent job in bringing a unique game into the industry yet again! I cant recall how many hours I slaved over this game to try and pay off my debt for my house! This game is definitely awesome, I guarantee if you rent it you will want to buy it!

Overall Animal Crossing gets a 9.2 out of 10
